Students may elect to take one of the following weekly recurring schedules:

3 sessions per week, 1 hour per session*

2 sessions per week, 2 hours per session*

Students are welcome to change schedules with at least 24 hours notice of a new payment cycle, as mutually agreed upon with the tutor.

*Each session is fifty minutes, allowing the tutor ten minutes buffer time to prepare for the following student. 

Class is available on weekdays 8a-8p (HST) via Zoom. Weekends are not available for recurring scheduling, however, are available upon request and with notice if a cancellation or swap is necessary.

You are welcome to take class for as long as you'd like, pause and return. Remember, learning a new language will be a lifelong journey. Typically, two semesters (or one year of study) will be sufficient to cover base vocabulary and all grammar tenses (past, present, future, subjunctive, etc.). Thereafter, class will specifically focus on augmenting conversational skills. 

Yes. However, reminder that consistency in learning a new language is key! As payment is made upfront (read more below in "How is payment handled?"), when cancelling or swapping class, you are welcome to switch the day and/or time that your class takes place within the same week, with 24 hours notice. At 1UP, flexibility is a core value! This policy applies both to the student and teacher. Please note, unused prepaid classes do not roll over into the following payment cycle. 

Payment shall be made upfront, no later than immediately upon completion of the first tutoring session of each payment cycle, on a recurring weekly or monthly basis. Your payment cycle begins on your first day of class. You are welcome to pay in advance monthly and receive a complimentary credit (read more below in "Are discounts available..."). Payment is accepted through PayPal or Venmo (@SeanDelaney).

Each session is offered at the rate of $25/fifty minutes. 

All base lessons and homework along with additional activities are digitally provided by 1UP. Approaching zero waste is a core value of 1UP! 

In the event you are dissatisfied with your service, refunds are permitted within the first week of lessons only for all unused sessions. 

Class is unavailable on recognized holidays. Arrangements may be made in advance to account for these dates. Weekends are not available for recurring scheduling, however, are available upon request and with notice if a cancellation or swap is necessary. Tutors receive four weeks unpaid vacation per calendar year, to be used jointly or separately, with seven days notice.

Each month booked in advance will accrue a complimentary $25 credit to be used for the following payment cycle. 

Any referral of a student who retains tutoring services for at least one week will garner the referee a complimentary $25 credit to be used for the following payment cycle. 

Seasonal discounts or credits may be available at the discretion of the marketing team, and are redeemable for the following payment cycle.
